How to Forward Only Your Newsletters (Gmail, Outlook, iCloud, Yahoo, Proton)
If your newsletters already arrive in your personal inbox, you don't need to resubscribe: a filter can forward just those senders to your InboxToKindle address. The one thing to avoid is forwarding your entire inbox. Then every receipt, delivery update and password reset becomes a Kindle document, Amazon starts rejecting deliveries, and InboxToKindle pauses the account until forwarding is fixed. Every provider below has a 'forward everything' switch and a filter or rule; you want the filter.
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: Copy your InboxToKindle address
It's on your dashboard's Subscriptions page and ends in @inboxtokindle.com. This is the address you forward to, not your @kindle.com address.
Step 2: Gmail: add the address, then create a filter
Settings (gear) > See all settings > Forwarding and POP/IMAP > Add a forwarding address, and paste your InboxToKindle address. Gmail sends a confirmation code; it appears on your InboxToKindle Newsletters page. Important: leave 'Disable forwarding' selected on that tab. Then go to Filters and Blocked Addresses > Create a new filter, put your newsletter senders in From (for example: substack.com OR beehiiv.com OR ghost.io), click Create filter, tick 'Forward it to' and choose your InboxToKindle address.
Step 3: Outlook.com and Hotmail: create a rule
Settings > Mail > Rules > Add new rule. Add the condition 'From' with your newsletter senders, then the action 'Forward to' with your InboxToKindle address, and save. Don't use Settings > Mail > Forwarding, which sends all of your mail. Work and school accounts may block forwarding outside the organization; if so, subscribe with your InboxToKindle address instead.
Step 4: iCloud Mail: create a rule on iCloud.com
In Mail on iCloud.com, open Settings > Rules > Add a Rule. Set the condition to 'is from' a newsletter sender and the action to 'Forward to' your InboxToKindle address. Add one rule per sender. Leave 'Forward my email to' in the general settings turned off.
Step 5: Yahoo Mail: subscribe directly instead
Yahoo's automatic forwarding is only on Yahoo Mail Plus, and it forwards the whole mailbox, so it isn't a good fit. Instead, change your subscription email on each newsletter to your InboxToKindle address, or forward individual issues by hand when you want them on your Kindle.
Step 6: Proton Mail: forward with a condition (paid plans)
Settings > Forward and auto-reply > Add forwarding rule. Enter your InboxToKindle address and add a condition such as 'Sender contains substack.com'. A rule without conditions forwards everything, so always add one.
Step 7: Check that only newsletters arrive
After a day, open your InboxToKindle Newsletters page. You should only see newsletters there. If receipts or notifications show up, tighten the filter so it matches newsletter senders only.
